What is Sleepy Snowy?

Sleepy Snowy is a bedtime app for children aged 2 to 4. Your child builds a story out of pictures: where to go (the forest, the sea, the farm, the mountains, the zoo, a castle, the Moon and more – 22 places in all), how to get there, and which little animal to help along the way. There are ready-made stories too.

Every story ends the same way: your child switches off the little lights in the picture and Snowy, a cuddly toy snowman, goes to sleep. Once the evening's limit you set (1–3 stories) is reached, the stories unlock again at 6 a.m. the next morning.

No ads, no tracking, no accounts. On phones set to Czech or Slovak the app speaks Czech (as Usínáček); everywhere else it speaks English.

Frequently asked questions

How do I open "For parents"?

Press and hold the "For parents" button for 3 seconds. If you've set a PIN, enter it. Inside you'll find the child profiles (name, Puppy or Kitten, pet name, stories per evening), the choice of narrator, captions, night brightness, a sound test and the download for offline use.

I forgot my PIN.

On the PIN screen, tap "Forgot the PIN?" and answer the multiplication question. The parents' section opens and you can change or remove the PIN.

What's free, and what does Premium unlock?

For free you get three places (forest, farm, meadow), the Christmas story and two more ready-made stories, Grandma as narrator, and your phone's own voice.

Sleepy Snowy Premium is a one-time purchase – no subscription. It unlocks all 22 places, all the stories, both narrators (Grandma and Grandpa) and your child's name in the stories. The price is shown in the store in your currency.

How do I buy Premium?

In "For parents", tap "Unlock everything". The app first asks a simple multiplication question, so a child can't buy by accident. Google or Apple then handles the payment; we never see your payment details.

I bought Premium but it isn't showing. How do I restore it?

Tap "Restore purchase" in "For parents". This also works after reinstalling the app or on a new device.

Make sure you're signed in with the same Google account or Apple ID you used to buy it. If the payment is still pending, the app unlocks itself as soon as it goes through. If nothing helps, drop us a line.

Does it work offline?

The pictures are built into the app. The narrator recordings come from the internet – either bit by bit as the stories play, or all of the chosen narrator's recordings at once with the download button in "For parents" (about 100 MB, best over Wi-Fi). After that the stories work offline too – at Grandma's, on a plane, wherever. Your phone's voice works as far as your device allows.

Why do the stories lock in the evening?

That's the whole point. Sleepy Snowy is meant to end the evening, not stretch it. In each child's profile you choose how many stories are allowed per evening (1–3). After the last one, Snowy falls asleep and the stories unlock again at 6 a.m. the next morning.

You can change the number at any time in "For parents".

How does the narrator say my child's name?

With Premium, enter your child's first name and a pet name (for example "honey" or "sweetheart") in "For parents". Puppy or Kitten in the stories then takes your child's name, and the narrator uses the pet name to say hello at the start of the evening and good night at the end.

The words are sent to our server, where the narrators record them (using the ElevenLabs service) – usually within a few minutes. Until then the story says "Puppy" or "Kitten". Nothing else about your child is sent. See the privacy policy for details.

How many children and names can I add?

You can add up to four children. Each child's name can be entered at most twice (the first time plus one correction; switching back to a name the child already had is always fine). That's because every new name and pet name is recorded in the narrators' voices, and the number of recordings per purchase is limited.

The pictures are too bright at bedtime. Can I change that?

Yes. In "For parents", pick one of five night brightness levels – the app dims the pictures, and a little more towards the end of the story. You can turn on captions there too.

I can't hear the narrator. What should I do?

Check the device volume (on an iPhone, also the silent-mode switch) and run the sound test in "For parents". If there's still no sound, write to us with your device model and the app version.

How do I delete all data?

Deleting the app removes everything stored on the device. To have a recorded name deleted from our server, e-mail us with the name and pet name.
